In registered shoots the prize money is allocated from the shooters in each class (AA - C) to be paid back to the shooters in that same class.

This means that C class shots are not competing against A and AA class shots for prize money - to win the C prize you merely have to be the best C class shot. And since C class tends to have most entries, that will normally be a bigger prize than the top A class shot gets!
