Best Time for Beginners The first and third Sundays (10.00 - 13.00) of any given month are the best days for novices since these are practice days for 50 English Sporting. It is much more fun to go round with somebody else; so see if you can team up with a friend. Booking a Date
If you are a game shooter wanting to have a go at clays for the first time, then you probably won't need the whole gun safety talk! Having said that, gun safety rules on a clay ground may appear far more strict than you are used to with loaded and/or closed guns only being permitted in the cages. Please familiarise yourself with the club rules and if in doubt please ask. Max Shot weight is 28gram, felt, fibre, or plastic wads are all acceptable. Make sure that somebody shows you how to use the buttons. Corporate Groups and Group Sessions We can cater for large groups such as birthday parties or a corporate group. If there are enough people interested (at least 15) exclusive use of the club can sometimes be gained on a Saturday. What To Wear In Winter, when it can be cold and wet, you will need to wear something warm that is not too tight across your shoulders. The ground is in an old orchard so can be quite muddy: wellies or heavy boots are ideal. Big scarves and floppy collars get in the way so a roll neck top is good. In Summer, again nothing too tight, do make sure your shoulders are covered as sometimes pieces of debris can be blown back by the wind (in spite of our best efforts) and the bits can be quite painful if they hit you. Sandals are fine so long as they are flat and not sloppy - you'll need a firm stance; flipflops are a no no. In all cases a baseball cap is ideal (or a flat cap) as this can stop bits hitting your head. How Much Does it Cost? "Have a go" sessions with Tosh, our instructor cost £40 |
